It's so amazing to see this story collaboration come to life a second time, and the reading of the stories is done really well. The reader has a clear voice that just conveys the right tone for each of the stories so far. smile.gif Hopefully there's more of it going to be done!

Just have to add that I feel sorry for the reader on the McGonagall chapter. My writing was pretty nasty back then - some of those sentences were so long! Kudos to the reader for not losing breath over them. He pulled it off very well. happy.gif

I will agree with everyone above that this story truly was wonderful to listen to. In general, I really like the idea for this compilation to begin with, but this prologue did such an excellent job in starting off the story. Timeturner's choice of words and descriptions were fantastic. I liked how well she portrayed the inner mind of Tom Riddle and set the tone for the rest of the story. I also loved the use of the quotes.

As for the actual podcast, I loved how the podcaster infused emotion and inflection on certain words and in certain parts. You could hear Tom's anger and his disgust when Muggles were mentioned. It added a whole other level to the podcast. Excellent work to both the author and the podcaster!

I haven't read any of this story yet, but I have just listened to the first podcast. (The prologue)

Timeturners prologue was enthralling. I thought it was a brilliant prologue, that had an air of mystery and adventure that made me feel like I was being read a story by a wizened old wizard. The tale seemed to have substance, and I really was left with the feeling that I was about to embark on some kind of special journey. An absolutely brilliant opening, great writing!

The reading was great. I loved the podcaster's dramatic voice, it just added to the atmosphere and the magic of the story. I can't wait to listen to more! Off to download. :)

Sorry for the double post, but I'm pretty sure it's allowed as I'm here to review the next part of Through The Looking Glass.

[The Riddles by LlewellynMcEllis]

I thought this chapter was very interesting. I really liked the writing style, and I liked the characterizations of the Riddle family. I really enjoyed listening to this moment when Voldemort intended to kill the riddles, from his point of view. Voldemort is a complex character who is always interesting to read/listen to. I liked hearing his reasons, and the emotions he felt towards the Riddle family. Overall, I thought it was very well written and well paced.

The podcast was great! The reader made it very dramatic and it was great to listen to. The sound quality was 100%. I thought that Voldemort's voice was really good, that kind of rasping breath. I really look forward to listening to the next part!

Through the looking Glass: Episode 2

Wow. I just got done listening to this podcast and was blown away by the story. What I enjoyed the most was the angle that the writer choose to take in this story, the angle being that she made Riddle's complicated and realistic. Rarely do one-shots concerning the young Tom Riddle portray his emotions well, but this story did it. I loved how conflicted he was over his mother and his father and how the author layered in small details about each of the characters. The descriptions were wonderful to listen to and the flow and tone amazing.

I also think that the pod caster did a fantastic job with the narration. The listener was actually able to hear the venom in Riddle's voice and the sway of his emotions. This made the story come to life. Excellent episode!

Sorry for the double post, but this is a review for:

Through the Looking Glass Episode 3

So far every story in this collaboration has really blown me away and this is no exception. This story was beautiful and horrible at the same time. Seeing lost moments that have never fully been written about before are always fascinating to read or in this case listen to. The author did such an incredible job with the characters of Alice and Frank Longbottom that I adored them even more and was heartbroken with all the hopes they had for Neville knowing what was going to happen to them. The way the author added in details about these two characters really made them fully fleshed out.

This story was also harrowing, especially in the scene of the death of Dorcas Meadowes and it was made more so by listening to it rather than if I had read it on the page. The anguish and fear in their voices stood out. The pod caster did an excellent job with the dialogue and descriptions. He kept the tone dark when it needed to be dark and soothing in the light parts. Another phenomenal pod cast!

Through the Looking Glass: Episode 1

I've heard/read about this story, but I never really considered reading/listening to it until now.

The Prologue is wonderfully written; the emotion, voice, detail, everything is amazing. Timeturner is my favorite HPFF author and her amazing writing abilities really shined (it's nearly midnight, so I'm not sure is that's the correct wording :p) in this story. She portrayed Voldemort ideally. I could feel his need for power. The only problem I had was that Voldemort was a Half-Blood, not a Mudblood.

As for the reader, his voice (and I'm assuming it's Alex's) fit this well and added dramatic flair to the podcast.

Ep. 1

Wow. Really brilliant. It felt like I was a child being read a storybook or a fairytale, only, you know, a bit darker, haha. But the writing and the flow really put me in a certain mindset that kept throughout the entire thing and it really managed to keep my interest. I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was a stunning prologue that set the tone for the rest of the story, I'm sure and it really, really impressed me. The writing was just gorgeous.

Through the looking glass episode 4 Lucius Malfoy

This collaboration has been a pleasure to listen to because each one-shot I have heard so far has been so beautifully written and this one is no different. What I liked about this particular one-shot concerning Lucius is that it didn't try to hide or explain away his malicious nature that we do see in the series. It didn't make him completely evil, but it did give excellent insight into his love/hate relationship he seemed to have for Voldemort. He hated the fact that he had to grovel, but at the same time was so impressed with the power that Voldemort had. Lucius is probably one of the more complex characters in the series because of his changing loyalties and we get to see a bit of that complexity in this story.

I also loved the ominous tone the pod caster used when doing Lucius's narration. It fit his character well and the music was also a nice touch to the pod cast!

Episode 1:

Voldemort is even scarier that I thought! I think both the writer and the reader did an excelllent job on this one. I like that we really got to see how Lord Voldemort got to be so evil. Of course, it's all the fault of the Muggles! Oh, deranged people are so much fun to read/write/listen to. They are very challenging, though and it is a testament to timeturner's skills as an author that the story was so wonderful. Basically, it comes down to this: Voldemort's evil, he's scary, and I'm in awe.

Part 1

Voldemort sound angry. It's makes me feel afraid imagining if he ever learned we Muggles find him just as horrid. But his obsession has been brought out so vividly. I can't help but feel his loathing. It's really good to have him lash out like that because it makes him who he is. And the reader does a wonderful job bringing all that out. Oh Voldemort... he never disappoints.

It was a nice listen.

Through the Looking Glass- Minerva McGonagall episode 3 (Really chapter 4)

I really, really liked this story of Minerva, especially the part when we get to see her when she was younger. The scene with Moaning Myrtle's body being taken out of Hogwarts was harrowing and truly sad. It really made an impression on me how terrible her death really was, especially when Armando was trying to figure out what to say to her parents. I loved that Minerva was one of the few people who realized early on just how evil Tom Riddle was. I think this story did a wonderful job giving insight into Minerva's character.

As for the podcast itself, I loved the use of the music, especially in the flash back part with Myrtle being brought down the stairs. It was a perfect song for the moment and Alex did a wonderful job in narrating the story.

EDIT: I just realized that my numbering has been off since I forgot that the prologue counted as chapter 1. The Lucius Malfoy review I did earlier is chapter 5.
