Story Name: Rat.Wolf.Dog.
Author Name:
FannyPrice
Story Link: here [M]

Genre:
Drama, General, Horror/Dark
Length:
Short Story, two chapters so far, 3297 words.
Ships:
James/Lily
Rating (and applicable warnings):
M, Strong Language, Strong Violence, Substance Use or Abuse, Sensitive Topic/Issue/Theme
Story Summary:
The Fates have never been kind to Peter Pettigrew. They made him stupid and talentless where his friends awed others with their wit and skill. When the Dark Lord approached him, he was a coward shrinking in the shadow of the inevitable, but, like Forbidden Fruit, power has intoxicated him and he wants more! And he will get it, no matter the cost.
Why you think this story deserves to be recognized Not only is the plotline something that I find absolutely enticing and rarely touched upon, but her characterization of Peter so far is scary and creepy. The characterization itself is so original, it's such an uncliched take on Peter Pettigrew, and though there are a million other reasons, I think that it deserves to be recognized for that reason alone.

:)

Found another! :)

Story Name: Taking the Train
Author Name: Dojh167
Story Link: 12+
Genre: General
Length: One-shot, 2867 words
Ships: none
Rating (and applicable warnings): 12+; Sensitive Topic/Issue/Theme
Story Summary:

Quote

For nikkinike's Challenge Me Challenge

The time has at last come for Harry to move on once and for all. He has lived a full life and is ready to die. But he discovers that "moving on" is more easily said than done.

Nobody can do it alone.

Why you think this story deserves to be recognized: This story surprised me—in the best way, of course. It wasn't what I would expect from a story about Harry "moving on", but it was so poignant and touching. I'm not really sure what else to say beyond that, other than that it's a great story and definitely deserves recognition (and it includes one of LovlyRita's favourite characters ;) )!

Just have the one recc today!

Story Name: Be Your Self
Author Name: RonNiffler
Story Link: Here
Genre: Romance, Angst
Length: One-shot; 1609 words
Ships: James/Lily; Snape/Lily
Rating (and applicable warnings): 15+; Strong language, Scenes of a mild sexual nature
Summary:

Quote

He watches her everyday run into the arms of someone else. She loves James, not him.
He could deal with that. He could deal knowing they would never share the same feelings, but her not being true to herself wasn't ok.

One way or another Severus was going to make sure she goes back to her regular self, and if he finds his Slytherin pride on the way, so be it.

Why you think this story deserves to be recognized: Its a really interesting look at Severus' perspective of Lily and James relationship while they were still at Hogwarts. It has a really touching moment between Lily and Snape that really defines the relationship that still exists between the two of them. Plus, I love Severus.

Firstly I'd like to second pennyardelles nomination of A True Hero's Legacy by Renegade Niffler.

Then more stories! :)

Story Name: The Play's The Thing
Author Name: pennyardelle
Story Link: here(12+)
Genre: Drama, Humor
Length: Shart story: 3846 words
Ships: none
Rating (and applicable warnings): 12+, mild violence
Story Summary: Fancy that: Herbert Beery, Hogwarts Master of Herbology and Dramatic Arts!

When Professor Herbert Beery planned to stage a pantomime at Hogwarts, his intent was to bring holiday cheer to the school—not on-stage duels, explosions, and a visit to St. Mungo's Hospital.

At least no one could say that he hadn't suffered for his art.
Why you think this story deserves to be recognized This is a really great concept firstly, which is based on the staging of a pantomime, which was told about in The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Beery is a very lovable, excitable character and this contains some really delightful humour with a little sad parts towards the end mixed in. There is even Auntie Muriel as young in this one. You don't want to miss the whole story of what happened when Beery decided to bring in some drama to Hogwarts.

Story Name: She Wrote Love On Her Arms
Author Name: witch_in_training
Story Link: here (12+)
Genre: Drama, Romance
Length: one-shot, 1004 words
Ships: OC/OC
Rating (and applicable warnings): 12+, Scenes of a Mild Sexual Nature
Story Summary: She was no stranger to relationships, but she would never be familiar with love.

Molly II
Why you think this story deserves to be recognized It's a really interesting a bit different piece about love. It's a more philosophical and poetic story about love rather than that much actual romance. Molly thinks about love and tries to understand it and wonders if she will ever find it herself. It's something that makes you think.

Story Name: The Field
Author Name: propertyoftheHBP
Story Link: here (12+)
Genre: Drama, Angst
Length: 3480 words, song-fic
Ships: Other Pairing, Remus/Tonks
Rating (and applicable warnings): 12+, Mild Language, Mild Violence, Scenes of a Mild Sexual Nature, Sensitive Topic/Issue/Theme
Story Summary: And here Andromeda was, walking the same path and thinking the same thoughts night after night.
Why you think this story deserves to be recognized It's a really beautiful story about Andromeda and her feelings after the final battle. She thinks about Ted and Tonks and Teddy and even a bit about Remus. It's very beautiful and sad.

Story Name: Monster
Author Name: FannyPrice
Story Link: here 15+
Genre: General, Horror/Dark, Mystery
Length: 1234 words, one shot
Ships: none
Rating (and applicable warnings): 15+, Mild Violence, Sensitive Topic/Issue/Theme
Story Summary: monster (n.): any creature so ugly and unnatural as to incite fear.

What frightens you?
Why you think this story deserves to be recognized It is very well written. It's an interrogation so it's a bit of a different setting as well, and it really asks the question of who is a monster and who is not, taking up discrimination through that as well. Very good. You should read it.

I'll probably be back with some more that I found during the review fest soon.

Genre:
Horror/Dark, Mystery, Romance
Length:
WIP 20 chapters so far (35253 words)
Ships:
Teddy/Victoire, Rose/Scorpius, OC/OC, Other Pairing
Rating (and applicable warnings):
Rated M for Strong Language, Strong Violence, Scenes of a Sexual Nature, Substance Use or Abuse, Sensitive Topic/Issue/Theme
Story Summary:
Blood. It runs through your veins, and it runs through mine. When its the same, we say it binds. Blood. When it's spilt, the world begins to tilt. In and out of focus it goes until its hard to know who is family and who is foe. --MW For Femme_Fatale's Horror Challenge.
Why you think this story deserves to be recognized: Oh my gosh I read one chapter and I was hooked. It is so good, and very well written, and just plain awesome. It keeps you wondering "Who's next? Who's behind it all?" I love murder mysteries and this is the first HP one I've read and everyone (who can) should absolutely read it.

Story Name: Silent Goodbyes
Author Name: TheDirigiblePlum
Story Link: Silent Goodbyes 15+
Genre: Drama, General
Length: 3269 Words (Completed)
Ships: Arthur/Molly
Rating (and applicable warnings): Sensitive Topic/Issue/Theme
Story Summary:

Quote

Lily Potter remembered almost everything that happened to her. There
were the good memories, such as the day where she realised she could fly
nearly as well as James, and the bad memories, such as the time she’d
been told her Grandfather’s memory was disintegrating past the point of
return.

Why you think this story deserves to be recognized
This story has a feeling to it that I can't quite pin down, but when I read it I feel like I'm reading something very personal, which makes it even more harrowing. It's distressing to read and yet the same time I couldn't look away. The way the piece is written, and the plot development is brilliant. I haven't read a piece that centres on this topic before, that doesn't mean there isn't one, but the fact that we have to watch a well loved character's memory slowly deteriorate is very sad, but it is written extremely well. The story focuses on Arthur in his later years as a grandparent, who is suffering from both Alzheimer’s and dementia. I think this story is really special because it allows us to see how all the different people in the Weasley family react to this, all through the eyes of a fairly young and innocent Lucy. The way the relationships are described will really break your heart. I don't want to give too much away, but I found it to be an extremely touching and moving piece. I really did believe in it, and I think that it ought to be recognized.

I second FannyPrice's blood. - it is phenomenal!

Genre:
Drama, Humor
Length:
5 chapters; 20126 words
Ships:
OC/OC; Rose/Scorpius
Rating (and applicable warnings):
15+; Strong language, Scenes of a mild sexual nature, Substance use or abuse
Story Summary:

Quote

Lucy Weasley might just be losing the plot.

Why you think this story deserves to be recognized: A) Its absolutely hilarious. HILARIOUS I say. B) The characterizations are all so interesting and unique C) Despite the ridiculous extremes this story takes it too, the basic premise is actually very relatable: how many people have graduated school and then thought "Now what?" I know I certainly did. Reading Lucy's journey to find that answer to that question is very entertaining.

Story Name: Heartless Temptations
Author Name: moonbaby11
Story Link:
http://www.harrypott...php?psid=285308
Genre:
Romance
Length:
One-shot; 742 words
Ships:
Other paring (Ron/Lavender)
Rating (and applicable warnings):

Story Summary:

Quote

In a few moments it's over again, and you're standing face to face. His blue eyes are so close they look like an ocean you could fall into, but you keep yourself steady.
Written for the 'Oh, Combinations!' Challenge

Why you think this story deserves to be recognized: Its an interesting take on the whole Ron/Lavender relationship from Lavender's point of view. Its just a tiny snippet of time, but the author manages to convey a great deal about the nature of the relationship itself in that time.

Story Name: Face in the Mirror
Author Name: TwilightPrincess

Mature; Strong language, Strong violence; Sensitive topic/issue/theme
Story Summary:

It was an accident.

Why you think this story deserves to be recognized: This is one of the creepiest, most disturbing stories I've read on the site - in a good way. It's a psychological thriller through and through. If you have read any of Ilia's stories, you already know she is an amazing author, and this fic is no exception - reading it literally sends a chill down my spine.

Hmm, that's it for today I think. I've nominated so many stories I'm having a hard time remembering which ones I've already posted! I should make a list...

Edited for funky formatting.

Double posting, don't care. Ya'll need to come up with more recc's so I don't run into these dilemmas.

Story Name: Quidditch Affairs
Author Name: butterbeergal
Story Link: http://www.harrypott...php?psid=287750
Genre: Drama, Romance, Angst
Length: One-shot; 1439
Ships: Other pairing (Cedric/Oliver)
Rating (and applicable warnings): Mature; Strong language, Scenes of a mild sexual nature, Contains slash (same-sex pairing)
Story Summary:

Quote

Cedric struggles with his thoughts as he talks to Oliver about the recently concluded Quidditch match.
Oliver/Cedric

Note: set after the Hufflepuff vs. Gryffindor match in Prisoner of Azkaban

Why you think this story deserves to be recognized: I hadn't read anymore than the summary of this story and was already thinking "Story Seekers" and the story did not disappoint. Its an adorable little out-take from PoA that I am now going to consider canon. There is nothing really graphic, for anyone who isn't too sure about slash - in fact, there isn't any physical contact at all. It features a) Oliver and Cedric and b) a (fully clothed) shower scene. Oliver + Cedric + shower = AWESOME. Plus it is really well written and all that, but I'm more about the fangirling at the moment.

I'd like to third FannyPrice's blood! AND Renegade niffler's A True Hero's Legacy. Heres another;
Story Name: While you were sleeping
Author Name: prettywishes
Story Link: Here (12+)
Genre: General
Length: 1218
Ships: Harry/Ginny
Rating (and applicable warnings): 12+
Story Summary: Albus hadn't moved an inch, he was oblivious to the fact that his entire family had just come together, though not in a pleasant way. He would never know. They would wake in the morning and everything would be okay, they'd all have smiles plastered to their face and Albus would never know what he missed out on.
Why you think this story deserves to be recognized: Its amazing, to put it simply. Prettywishes deals with the darker side of winning a war and shows the consequences for everyone - even those not directly involved. Its sad, thought-provoking, distressing and yet somehow(and I've no idea how) it's also reassuring. She deals with a realistic subject and manages to show an almost positive light on a very negative event.
