Staff Chat 14 will be live in just a few seconds. Give us your thoughts, your suggestions, your feedback. Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free... wait a second, I think I might have mixed something up there. The point is, the podcast is out there. Download it and then hang out in here. It's where all the cool people are.

I've just checked the iTunes feed and downloaded staffchat 14 as well as a story. It would seem that this was a temporary problem.
If you have any further issues, please let us know.

mine took forever to load. two days to be exact. it usually takes five minutes even when it is 3 hours long but this one took days literally. i have it now and have listened to it. it was awsome but poor Alex. Attaked by flying children at such a young age. i too have had a kid thrown on me but the kid was my cousin and she was thrown by my uncle not a kid thrown by someone elses mother./ i feel for ya alex and evil little devil. i hope evil little devil did eventually get to hear the hillarity that was episode 14!

Poor Alex! Attacked with flying children! :-( I hope there's no scarring for life! It would be a shame.
The download problem is there (or my computer is just being contrary). I clicked the correct button, but all that happened was that the page refreshed. The podcast didn't download and I really wanted to take it to school with me to finish listening to it on the bus. Oh well, I'll just finish once I get home tomorrow :-) Once again, the podcast is wonderful. I'm still laughing at the many funny dialogues! And good job on having much less silent time in this one - it's much easier to listen to when there aren't awkward quiet moments ;-)

We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz! This song got struck in my head after that intro, where Alex needed a voice, WTM some lungs and LovlyRita a brain, and I'm sorry to say that it remained there for the duration of the podcast.
I'd like to tell LovlyRita that Guinea is a country in Africa, but Papua New Guinea is certainly in Oceania (just north of Australia and bordering Indonesia) so you are forgiven the confusion because the names are so similar. And as I do not live in America I'm glad you gave the temperature in Celcius because I don't understand Farenheit! Even though I don't live in Papua New Guinea either.
I would like to reassure Alex that not all parents are as psycho as the mother who threw a child and hit you fifteen years ago! And kids do not ruin everything, though they do mean that your priorities change a bit. But that's part of the point, isn't it?
Oh, and Rita? If you can't remember the last staff Christmas party, that probably just means that you had a REALLY good night.
For the record, Equus is quite a brilliant play and if Dan Radcliffe could pull off that role then he's a much better actor than I've previously given him credit for. If you do get a chance to see it dramatised I certainly recommend it. It's about a boy who works with horses but has quite an unhealthy fascination or obsession with them and follows his journey – a very demanding role for an actor due to the complexity of the character. (There. Now you know what it's about. No excuses any more!)
Quote of the day: "So they just use [the tables in the Great Hall] to store stiffs. Yeah, that works." This is almost as evocative as Peeves' rhyme at the end of the final battle (and about as tactful). Nice one, Alex.
I agree that Dame Judi Dench would be a BRILLIANT Augusta Longbottom. I don't know if that character made the final cut and if so I don't know who got the role (yes, I know, bad of me) but that would be inspired casting I think.
I do feel that this podcast would have benefited a little from a bit of an edit which could have taken out a lot of the awkward silences and dead air, like when LovlyRita dropped off. You could probably have cut 15 or 20 minutes from the podcast overall without losing any of the banter and conversation (and in the process made it easier to find the time to listen to it), so maybe that will be something to take into account in future chats.
Overall, though, good job, and a joy to listen to.
