Having been stuck on the couch in pain watching NCIS I missed out on some of the going-ons in the cabin. It was great to find out about it all. I have to say that the Triwizard Tournament is held every five years according to Harry Potter Wiki. Alex I think you should have started by saying Springtime sent you when entering the kitchen. The fudge was GREAT though Kenny tried to say it was his! You'll have to inform me if there were bees or not!

That was hilarious. I had such a good time visiting with WeasleyTwinMom and drooling over Kevin McKidd. The fudge was delicious, and I am hoping that Alex didn't find a science experiment growing in the red bag back home in his bathroom. Ew! 10 days+milk products+no refrigeration=BAD. :p I had such a good vacation, even if we were stuck inside. Movies, good coffee, and even better conversation made it a great holiday.

I remember that I listened to this when you first posted it, but shamefully never reviewed. This is a great podcast—I could almost believe you were actually sitting around in a cabin on a wintry hill together. :p I think that was mostly down to the sound mixing, so hats off to whoever did that. (Alex, I'm guessing?) The sound effects created a really cozy ambiance. The fact that the sound quality of everyone's mic was slightly different kind of took away from the overall effect, but I suppose that can't be helped!

LovlyRita's role in this was very funny—I liked how in the end she said, "Well, I need another semester of physical therapy training to treat your ankle." I loved the contrast between her medical terminology and Alex's wacky suggestions. A boot made out of a Styrofoam cooler?? :D

Oh, and I loved how Alex went to look up We Gryffies and there was the sound of dial-up connected. It's been a loooong time since I've heard that sound, but it fit perfectly with the setting of this. Of course there wouldn't be wi-fi in a cabin!

"Kenny" was hilarious. I'm curious as to who voiced him, because I'm not sure who else on staff is male, besides Alex and Jay. Anyway, Kenny's reaction to Alex's predicaments was so funny. "I'm just agreeing with you, because so far your failures have been right."

Loved Jay's appearance. ;)

Wow, and this podcast was even educational, with that cooking recipe from Alex! Wonderful podcast; sounds like the staff had a great vacation!

Yes! I have finally heard the pod cast where the famous "Stay out of the kitchen" line has been used that I have heard so much about.

This was a fantastic pod cast. The amount of planning and work that must have gone into this boggles my mind. I loved all the sound effects and thought they really did a wonderful job bringing out the ambiance of the story. And all the pod casters did such a great job with their parts that it made it seem like it was real. I think the best parts were LovlyRita's part and Kenny's part. Those were both hilarious. I thought AlexG2490 and Kenny played off each other so well.

I also agree with pennyardelle that the mixing of all the parts was an incredible piece of work. Keep up the good work pod casters!

This was a fun podcast to listen to. I especially liked the way Alex went around to all the different staff members who were “there” to talk to them, as it meant we could get to know them a bit better while knowing exactly which voice was which person, which isn’t always easy during staff chats as there are so many competing voices. It had a nice gentle narrative, too, and the twist at the end with Alex realising he’d left the eggnog at home was brilliant. I admit that I tuned out for much of the discussion of TV shows, mainly because I don’t watch any of the ones talked about, but you get that with group discussions so I’m not complaining, just commenting. All in all a lot of fun and I’m sure you had a ball doing it.

Cheers, Mel :)

Wow, that snow must have been really bad! ;) Ha, this podcast was so funny, guys. You had awesome sound effects and it actually sounded realistic, minus the fact that some people sounded a lot quiter than others. :) I loved how Alex went aroudn talking to everyone and figuring out what everyone was up to. I was so glad to find the 'Stay out of ze kitchen' podcast! :) lol Alex, bear-sicles. I loved how you were calling the people with the blankets 'angels'! (Sorry, their names escape me) lol, I had no idea what LovlyRita was talking about when she was tryign to figure out what was wrogn wiht Scooterbug. Really big words were used there. ;) A styrofoam boot? Really, Alex? Posted Image

Your conversation with WeasleyTwinMom and Georgia Weasley was really funny, and then Alex whispering, "I'm so scared right now!" I really want soem fudge now. Thanks Alex. :p Of course it was an intern. Stupid interns. Oh my gosh, I couldn't stop laughing at Kenny saying, "Stay out of ze kitchen!" over and over. Who did the voice of him? Oh, he was hilarious! Posted Image You mixed it up in your bathtub, Alex. lol, that was really funny! :) You left the bag in another country? Aw.
:( You failed ot deliver your eggnogg. Poor everyone that wanted eggnog. Very dramatic almost-walking-to-your-death moment. Good poetic justice. Overall, awesome podcast!

Okay. Apparently, I've got people who are curious about me.

For those who are curious, I am Kenny. It is my kitchen. Please stay out of it. ^_^

This was really fun! I've been looking for the "Stay out of the kitchen!" podcast ever since I heard the 100th anniversary podcast. I was not disappointed :p Alex and Dan *cough* I mean, 'Kenny' really played off of each other well. I thought the banter back and forth was really hilarious. Sorry to hear about the eggnog. I bet that was not a pleasant smell to return home to. At least it seems like your fudge was quite a success. And personally, I enjoyed your poetic moment, Alex. Very lovely :p

The scene with LovlyRita attempting to fix scooterbug's thumb (even though it took me quite awhile to figure out what she was talking about) was also really funny. I love how she decided at the end that she needed to go to school for another semester before she could look at scooterbug's ankle. Seriously girls, did you hear that wind? I don't think skiing was probably the best idea in the world...

The other segments were also really nice. It was fun to get a glimpse at several of the other staffers, even if a lot of it was just about their television-watching preferences. Alex did a great job of moving the show along and interjecting funny one-liners from time to time ("I'm so scared right now" and the medical advice especially).

The sound effects really added a lot to this show. Overall, nice job :)
"Even if it's a dumb story, telling it changes other people just the slightest little bit, just as living the story changes me. An infinitesimal change. And that infinitesimal change ripples outward--ever smaller but everlasting. I will get forgotten, but the stories will last. And so we all matter--maybe less than a lot, but always more than none." -John Green, An Abundance of Katherines
