Hi!!!

I just finished listening to the new Story Seekers episode. It was really fun to see your reactions to RCE. Of course none of you got Scorp's little brother's name right. It's pronounced (Sir-pi (as in pig)- tus (like tusk without the k). Okay Just thought I should correct that little mistake.

The Italian on her bracelet was translated correctly (almost) instead of my small princess it's supposed to be my little princess. Oh and the Italinan movie you were refering to is Life is Beautiful (it's one of my all time favorites).

Oh and Mini is writing a one shot as we speak to explain all the crazy names (did anyone catch the name of the History of Magic teacher??? Henrick Henwick). So be on the lookout for that. Also, the next chapter got rejected for validation, but Minni fixed it and now it is back in there so that should be coming out in a couple days.

Oh and if you are wondering why the heck i know this much about Mini's story, I am her best friend and beta, so I am entitled.

<3 PrincessPadfoot

P.S. Mini has also listened to the podcast, and she is so excited that you mentioned her story!!!

Just listened!

You got my name right the very first time you said it and a few times in between. :) A lot of people find my name confusing, though. I can't imagine why. :shifty: I mean, it is a real (Latin) word, after all. And it's only seven letters long. But I suppose it is three syllables. Anyway, I won't get apoplectic if you call me Apoplex or Alopolex ( . . . Alex). Also, strangely enough, quite a few HPFFers have thought I'm a guy at first (some still do, as far as I know). Maybe it's the name. One person told me it was because I seemed bureaucratic. Posted Image Whatever that means.

One suggestion: Maybe you could post links somewhere to the stories? I really wanted to go read "We Were Brave Once" right away, but I thought you guys said "We Were Brave Ones," so of course I couldn't find it. I wound up looking through the Story Seekers recommendation thread to find the link.

"Al Potter and His Very Epic Plan" sounds hilarious. I love humor! I definitely need to make time to check this one out too.

LovlyRita took the time to count the letters in a character's name? Or did she just make that up? Lol. That sure is one whopper of a name . . . I may have to check out that closet explorer story too just to see the name!

I really appreciate your efforts to keep the podcast short; that greatly increases the liklihood that I'll listen to it! It was fun to listen to, though, because there were some goofy funny moments that were Staff-Chat-esque, yet this was a much more focused (duh) chat, so it was easier for me to listen to. I love hearing people talk about books and stories! I got so excited listening to how excited you all were about the stories. LovlyRita did a great job as hostess! It wouldn't have been the same without the three assistant panelists, though.

OMFFPC! (Oh my freakin' freak potato chips)! I am so excited! I told everybody in my family and they all looked at me oddly....

His name is Serp(like serpent)-i(igloo)-tus(like tusk without k) that is the hooked on phonics way of spelling Serpitius, who's full name is Serpitius Salazar Malfoy.... he's in Gryffindor...

Alex- Thank you for noticing the prose! I live for my adjectives. And the janitor comment! I was cracking up!

Haha- Avon....

Belladonna Maria Gabriella de Constantina Vanderkay is 46 letters so you were close Rita but no cigar. And I may actually have a name that is about as long as this.

Thank you so much for talking about me and such.

PS I am working on the crazy names project.

Hey there! Glad you had fun listening, all.

Just so you know, the links to the stories are found in the show notes. In iTunes, you can right click on a podcast and select "Show Description" to see it. Alternatively, if you click on the link here in the forums to All Podcasts, you get taken to the RSS feed's page at http://www.harrypott...t/untitled.xml. The show notes are there under each episode, but you might have to do some scrolling to get there.

This was loads of fun! I noted my LOL moments:

1. LovlyRita singing Fergilicious, but to Serpitus' name. Very, very funny , and I had to control my laughter as I was in a coffee shop when I listened to it.
2. The infamous My Immortal. I actually checked it out because I've heard quite a number of people saying how utterly horrid and funny it was. And holy cow, that story gave me a migraine!
3. OMG, you butchered Alopex's name. Alopolex??? Hahaha! Again, giggled by myself in the coffee shop - NOT a normal scene. But thankfully, Alopex has cleared that up. XD

I've actually been hearing great things about Al Potter and His Very Epic Plan, and I think I've managed to read around 3 chapters of it. I enjoyed it immensely! I'm hoping to read more of it some time soon. MM's story sounds really funny. I thought the Italian phrase on the bracelet was kind of sweet. Oh, and I've gone and downloaded We Were Brave Once as it has great reviews from all of you.

I think the discussion was really dynamic and there wasn't a dull moment. I also think that having guest panelists is a great idea, though 4 people would probably be enough so things won't get too confusing and the discusion, while varied, won't get too circuitous.

Great job, everyone!

I believe these first two stories are recorded for the podcast, which means I will definitely be listening to them soon enough. :) They both sound amazing, for different reasons. We Were Brave Once sounds really moving, and I've heard that Al Potter and His Very Epic Plan is hilarious, from this podcast and other places around HPPC and HPPF (if Nar's posts around the forums are anything to go by, it really must be :p). Great choices for the podcast, and I look forward to getting acquainted with these stories in more detail. It's great that some of these Story Seekers selections are getting recorded—it provides a nice link across the podcast site. Maybe it would be good to edit in with links to the recordings of these stories, to encourage people to listen to more of the podcasts?

That is quite the name! LovlyRita singing "Fergielicious" and Alex bringing up Ebony from My Immortal made me laugh. This podcast was really very funny, which made it a great listen. You guys must have had so much fun recording this.

I had such a good laugh and time listening to this podcast. I especially thought the many variations of Alopex's name and the Fergie song reference to be really funny. And when the worst fan fiction ever written with the infamous Ebony was mentioned, I cracked up. I am really interested in reading Al Potter and his very epic plan now that I heard this podcast. I've listened to the first podcast of this story and plan on listening to the second, but I would like to read the actual story.

Thank you for making such a delightful podcast!

Hey I loved listening to the podcast (like I always do)

We were brave once - The description sounds really good and your opinions on it. OO I can't wait to listen to Alex read it

Al Potter and his very epic plan - Ok I have seen this many times when looking for stories and it's always caught my eye so I'm glad that you have talked about it. It makes me want to read it more. It would be funny if Al became a Scorpius instead of a Slytherin. I'm a bit confused about baby pirating but it sounds funny haha

Resident closet explorer - interesting...Rose in Slytherin. I wonder what the reasons are? haha I love you italian accent LovlyRita :-D and the fergilicious song! I love it!
I must say that I have read my immortal...... I won't say my opinion on it haha it's not a good one. I would find it so funny if Bella became a janitor!
talking about slash everytime I hear someone say that I immediately think of the guitarist from guns and roses hahaha.

Okay, okay, I'll do it! I'll go and nominate some stories right now! Happy?

Right. This podcast. It was nice to hear you talking about a story that I'm familiar with – even if that is from listening to its podcast, hahaha - in We Were Brave Once. While I've heard you talking about stories that I've been familiar with before, this time it was a surprise because I didn't actually nominate this one. The discussion about the different POVs in this story was a good one, I thought, because it was something that I thought myself about this particular story … though I also thought that perhaps it changed POV a little too often, and I couldn't work out why the Rose POV was in there in the first place because it had no closure. Anyway, enough about that. The discussion about it was really pertinent and should have encouraged people who don't know the story to check it out.

Nar's story I have not yet read (or listened to) but it sounds really interesting so I can understand how you came to choose this story to record. I am particularly impressed that it was written for NaNo because a lot of NaNo stories seem to sacrifice quality for word count (though this can be edited later). It sounds like a really interesting story and you sold it very well so I'm looking forward to listening to those podcasts. Posted Image

The third story, the one by MiniMoony, also sounds interesting because like you guys I never thought of Rose Weasley being a Slytherin – and I too would have been distracted by that name! Was that character named in jest? Or, to put it another way, are they supposed to be clichéd? I do like it when there is a caricature in stories with a name like that, it's nice when people don't take their stories too seriously sometimes. In any case she sounds hilarious, and the whole discussion about names I thought was brilliant.

All in all a very enjoyable podcast. Good work, folks!

OMG ya'll are so funny! I'm liking the addition of Scooterbug8515 and AlexG2490! All of you are completely hilarious. And again, more stories to add to my list. But this time, I've actually read two of them already!

"Al Potter and his Very Epic Plan" I've actually read a couple of chapters in already and lost the story. I'm glad I listened to the podcast. Now I can go look it up again! "Resident Closet Explorer" is another one I've started reading already. Its funny and great so far. I also would recommend it. "We were Brave Once" is one that is definitely going on my must read list.

Great podcast everyone. It was very hilarious!

Another excellent episode of the story seekers. I'm listening to these all out of order, but I think I've caught up now. I had already heard the podcast for "We Were Brave Once" and have mixed feelings about it. It's a really well written story, it just makes me sad :( I'd like to think that their lives turned out happier than that. Maybe we just caught them at a bad time? I do love the decision to have the ending from Rose's perspective. I think that says a lot about how we see people through the filter of our own experiences, and often tend to forget that people have lives outside of our experiences with them. Rose obviously knew very little about her parent's past. It kind of makes me want to go and ask my parents all sorts of questions about their childhoods, in case I missed something vital.

I haven't read the other two stories yet, but (as always) you guys make them sound so great, that I'm sure I'll be reading them at some point in the near future. I love these podcasts! Keep them coming!
"Even if it's a dumb story, telling it changes other people just the slightest little bit, just as living the story changes me. An infinitesimal change. And that infinitesimal change ripples outward--ever smaller but everlasting. I will get forgotten, but the stories will last. I applauded for you Alex!! LOL

We Were Brave Once - I heard this story being read on a podcast already and yes, it was rather sad but very, very real. I can't believe it only had 4 reviews at the time.

Al Potter and His Very Epic Plan - I heard scooterbug read this just yesterday but I just had to go finish read the story. I can't believe it's complete either! I loved it! It's hilarious but it has a good meaning to it. The characters are hilarious - Faith, Lia, Grim and Avery. Gosh, I wish I had a friend like Faith, lol.

Resident Closet Explorer - Ahahaha, I had to open this up to see this name....well, Bella's name too. It's funny this is about broom closets, there's a discussion about that going on at the forums.

LOL at all the times LovlyRita forgot to read the summaries.

I love listening to you guys! You have so much fun!

Sorry Alex. You didn't get any cheering or clapping. :( You all totally deserve some cheering, though, so yay! :yahoo:

Anywhoo, I like 'We Were Brave Once'. I listened to the recording of this story, and I agree that it made me sad in a good way. I liked how you talked about the author just casually placing the POV chnages in there, since I'm the kind of author who uses the long line to seperate POV changes.

I love Al Potter's Epic Plan, from the little bit that I've read/listened to, and the titles/summarys for the chapters. lol, I love that line. It's true that that is basically a ton of fanfiction cliches wrapped up into one sentence in a story. ;) That is really awesome and I wonder if it was intentional.... lol, the lovechild of Nano.

Rose in Slytherin is awesome! :) Whao, long name..... Seriously. Did you actually count the letters in the name? lol, I can't get over LR singing Serpitus' name to the tune of Fergalicius! Oh, that was hilarious! ;) Oh My Immortal. I'm actually working through reading it, but it gives me a headache if I read too much of it. Really. And I'm not a fool, LovlyRita. I was just curious as to how bad it was. :p I love veryone encouraging Alex to "Do it. Translate it."

Once again, great podcast! :)
