Haha, what an amazing way for Alex to start off—I definitely giggled at that.
All right, so,
Lily and Me. My prediction for the ending, without reading it, is that the teddy bear got destroyed by Dudley Dursley later in life.
Annnd...
Oh, well, that was so sad! Adorable, and the writing was lovely, but so sad at the end. I wasn't really disturbed by it...I mean, if you really think about the passing of time and stuff, I guess it's a bit yucky, but I thought it was touching more than disturbing. (Unless I'm missing some connotation you guys are picking up on...) Anyway, I'm usually not so interested in stories that are from the perspective of inanimate objects, but that one was a nice surprise. I guess the toys weren't really inanimate in this case, so maybe that's why.
I think after the April Fool's joke, "Jily" must be the decided-upon nickname for the James/Lily ship by the powers that be.

That story sounded interesting—definitely a different take on the relationship between Harry and the Dursleys. (And, though you all might have found this out in the meantime: Lily and Petunia's parents did indeed die before Lily and James did, and JKR said it was not due to anything "sinister". Also, regarding your other comment about Dudley having a magical child, I'm pretty sure JKR said she was going to do that in the epilogue but thought it would be "too neat".

I think it makes sense, though.)
Petunia is a great character, as LovlyRita said. It was great to have one of these podcasts with a theme to it—since you're dependent on our recommendations, I guess you can't do this all the time, but it was nice to have a common thread running through them. Maybe if you had a specific theme in mind, you could set up a new, short-term recommendations thread and we could try to suggest stories that fit the guidelines.
Great podcast, and since I've reviewed all of these now, I can't wait for #8!
