Another interesting podcast! It really is so neat to hear you all discussing these events. I can't believe that the same cliches are still hanging around that you guys were talking about 3 years ago.
I couldn't BELIEVE how long that one OC name was that was read! I kept expecting it to stop but it just kept going.
I have to wonder whether the staff still have a little topic for them to post "Things I Learned Today". The ones about Malfoy being a redhead and Snape being a blond were hilarious.
Where do people think these things up? And why? I can't believe that people were ALREADY so sick of Dramione back then.
Alex's Star Trek knowledge is sure coming in handy on these early podcasts. I had no idea that Steve Vanderark (sp?) had published a book on Star Trek!
Oh, and the sound did sound better this time.

Wow! ... I really need to stop exclaiming that, but I can't help it. I love the podcasts! I think I found my new favorite substitute for my broken radio xD
I really liked how you brought up the cliches. I think that using a cliche (and believing it isn't one) ruins many possibly-good-in-all-other-aspects stories. I used to be a big fan of Marauder's Era romance, so I had to go through a lot of bad stories to find the few good ones. And OC names... Some of them make me want to shudder. I really don't think that Malfoy having a twin sister named Rachel or Jamie is likely... Same goes for Harry's twin to be named something like Jamel or Charismata (yes, I've seen those - on another fan fiction site).
I've got no clue how you come up with all these ideas for the podcasts, especially when you record so many of them, but I hope you keep up the marvelous work and that we get a few more great things to listen to!

I love listening to the podcasts, yall have such wonderful conversations! I really liked hearing about where yall get your insperation. One of the things you had mentioned was music, I can't listen to music when I'm writing as it distracts me. I do, however, get lots of idea's while listening to music in the car (you know, when I can't write it down).
I found the conversation about cliches entertaining and funny. I have never really understood the draw of dramione, I tend to avoide it, actually. I' m diffenatly going to go listen to the next one, I really want to hear whats said about Mary-Sues.
The sound was much better then the first one on this one, too!

The talk about the cliches was definitely really funny to listen to, especially in light that there is an entire thread made for interesting things the staff learn. Being someone who has had to review stories, I have seen a few of these cliches repeated over and over again, like the dreaded Sirius is a playboy cliche. I nearly went mad having to read all of those stories and I only had to read a few of them.
But back to the podcast. I really liked how there seemed to be a really nice chemistry between all of the pod casters and I love how we, as the listener, get to have a little insight in what it is like to be a validator. I was really intrigued to listen to the next episode, especially with the mention of the Mary Sues. I loved AlexG2490's name that he made, which was Mary Sue Potter and I thought it really funny that Voldemort had like a million children and Sirius had more.
I did have a hard time hearing some of the voices of the pod casters at times and sometimes it cut in and out, but overall this was still a very entertaining podcast to listen!

"Dramione has got to go." Amen to that Alex!
It was so great to here you guys chat! I love these early podcasts. Also, I listened to this while cleaning my room and may I say it makes cleaning a lot easier haha.
Hearing you guys talk about that thread was awesome and I love the things you came out with haha. Accio Remus!
I have been known to muse that Snape may in fact be blonde, and the only reason his hair is black is because it's really, really, really, greasy. But I never meant it realistically ha! I love how the first cliche you all thought of was the shared common rooms.
I thought the sound quality was definately improved! I really enjoyed this podcast because you all seemed so comfortable with each other and it was an interesting insight into the life of a staffer haha! I also think this is the perfect length for a staff chat. I really enjoyed it and the topics you discussed.
Also, I think the british car programme you were talking about is "Top Gear" - but who knows?
Thanks for recording!

You definitely did stop staying um. The contrast between the amount of them in the two episodes was huge. Also, JK Rowling has read some fanfiction? Somehow I don't believe that. The Audio was a little dodgy in parts. All the talk about clichés was interesting and all the stuff about bbc just went way over my head. I can definitely see Judy Dench playing Neville's Gran. Especially in the clothes Snape wears in the third movie.
"The ground beneath our feet is spinning at a thousand miles an hour. The entire planet is hurtling around the sun at sixty seven thousand miles an hour. And I can feel it. We're falling through space, you and me, clinging to the skin of this tiny little world. And, if we let go..."

I loved this one! And the sound quality was one hundred times better, so that made it all the more enjoyable. The Lexicon conversation was interesting; I'd never known the exact reasons behind the lawsuit. That site is my hero when I'm in the middle of a fic and a random question pops up into my mind.
I absolutely loved and empathized with the all of the talk on cliches. Even NOW, almost three years later, I'm seeing a bunch of stories where Hermione's a pureblood witch who's secretly Mia...where do they come from?
And all of the random crazy fic things...like Sirius not ever being able to go into a library..."Accio Remus!" Really, Dramiones were in such a cliched abundance then, too? Oh my. I do agree that one of the very, very, very few ways it would work was if Draco was hit over the head with a Bludger.
Also, the three-line name? That's just plain funny. Another entertaining podcast, again, I loved it!
Heartbreaking set thanks to ashviciousrawr @ TDA"...I don't care what they say, what anyone says, the animosity between Gryffindor and Slytherin is not over, it will never be over. Something that started over a thousand years ago can't be abolished just because Voldemort is dead..." - Al Potter in Coiled and Ready to Strike[15+]

Okay. I've never had much desire to be staff before, but I WANT TO SEE THOSE THREADS IN THE STAFF FORUM!!! If they still exist, of course. You know what I mean - "Things I learned today" and "OC name Hall of Shame". They sound hilarious. I understand why you didn't read out TOO much from them because it could really embarrass the people whose stories you're referring to (and if the name or scenario is outlandish enough it wouldn't be hard to tell) but gee I want to read them now.
This podcast sounded a lot better than the first one did. You're more relaxed and the sound quality was up on last time, which I'm putting down to experience. It was a lot of fun to listen to though fortunately there were no LOL moments like last time because, again, I was on the train and people definitely look at you strangely when you laugh too much from something no one else can hear.
I found the talk about the Lexicon interesting and I realised that I never actually found out how that lawsuit ended up. Guess I'd better go Google it now, hahaha. I didn't realise that Steve VanderArk had done this before with Star Trek, though, that was really interesting. He must make a living out of various fandoms, I suppose.
Anyway, I enjoyed this one immensely. Looking forward to #3 now!

Apart from the sound being a bit off in places I enjoyed this podcast.
Oh yay I'm do glad that JK likes Fanfiction and sometimes reads it. If I was an author I would be happy to let people do fan fiction, I reckon it would be very fascinating to see.
There seems to be a lot of Star Trek going on, Alex can seem to make anything go back to Star Trek it's quite funny, I'm like that with Harry Potter.
I don't really use the Lexicon, I use Harry Potter wikipedia though.
I do go to the challenge part of the forum too to get inspiration, that or listening to music.
Oh how I wish that I was part of the staff, just to go in the staff room.
Hermione and Voldemort baby?? what! I'm loving all of this conversation.
haha Sirius using "accio Remus"
I would eat the jelly beans hehe mm Voldemort flavoured.
I do sometimes like dramione. I wanted to write one once....back in the distant past....
Wow that is a long name I knew someone who gave their kid the middle names of the Gladiator character name with other 'us' words in there like Optimus and Sparticus it was like eight names long. crazy I tell ya!
Great podcast!
