I'm still working on getting the forums set up, but for the time being, I've set up a set of forums for you to use. It doesn't have all the features your used to, but it'll be taken care of and everything will be hunky-dory again shortly.

August 3, 2011: Shake up at HPPC
Well, in case we needed any further proof, HPPC has finally made it in the podcast world! We're so popular, infact, that our server costs have skyrocketed! Unfortunately, that means that we're going to need to be moving and shifting around, and moving to a server that is hosted outside the HPFF family, so we can stop crowding our sister site. In order to do so, we'll be experiencing some down time. Hopefully we'll be able to get everything taking care of within the next 24/48 hours. Thanks for your patience and continued support.

April 3, 2011- Birthed through books, united by friendship, loyal by choice. What affects one, affects us all.
This message has been brought to you via our sister site www.harrypotterfanfiction.com
This year HPFF celebrated its 10th Anniversary. It was a fabulous monumental event in the history of the site. But something else happened the same year. Something that has truly defined the world as we now see it.
Marking the 10th Anniversary of September 11, the official 9/11 Memorial will be opening to the public at the former Twin Towers location. The Memorial, designed to commemorate the lives of those lost resembles a park where life can go on, circling seamlessly within the confines of the tragedy that was dealt at ground zero. Amidst this are a series of cobblestone pavers, donated by persons to help fund the building of the Memorial (and future Museum). Some are from family members of fallen; some from police departments or fire departments that responded to the scene; some from individuals whose life was affected in a way we may never understand. And, among these, lies the stone for HPFF. More than just a stone of remembrance, it is a stone of promise – a promise that if you only dare reach out, there will always be someone willing and waiting to lend a hand.
On September 12, 2011 the first official day of opening for the Memorial, HPFF staff will be present at the Memorial. If you are in the area and would like to join us, please feel free. Kiosks located around the site entrance will lead you to the HPFF paver where you should easily be able to find us.
HPPC will also have a presence there, along with our fellow staffers at HPFF. Stay tuned over the next couple of months for more information, and keep checking HPFF for updates. Also, for more, you can listen to the podcast "This Week in HPFF Part 2."

December 15, 2010: New Prizes!
I'm so excited about these prizes that I can't wait until there's a contest to go with them to make the announcement. The next time we have a contest or a drawing here, we'll actually have something to give away! That's right... we have bumper stickers! They're pretty snazzy looking, sure to liven up any car they stick onto. Don't you want one already? Look!: Stay tuned for a chance to win one! posted by: AlexG2490
December 12, 2010: Today's Release Suffers a Total Existence Failure
Well. A few people have submitted content this week, but I can't release anything, because every attempt to download a file from FileFront results in this error:
I won't lie. This makes me at least moderately unhappy. But until FileFront fixes their errors I won't be able to put out Spam-a-thoner's Corner #1 - Quesadillas, Velvet Treehouses, and Fangirls. Which is a shame, because it's what I wanted to release next. It's about November subject matter, so it needs to go out really, really soon. Grrrr.
Anyway, because I was going to release this episode, I didn't start up a vote last week after LovlyRita bailed me out and released last week's story, Duet. I guess the best thing to do is open up voting on the forums for a story to be released th 19th. So, sorry everyone... I'm sorry to our listeners who were hoping for a release and I'm very, very sorry to the QTR staff who've been waiting for their release for ages now. I will find a way to release something on the 19th, and probably again on Christmas Day, but apart from that expect releases to be somewhat sporadic between now and the start of 2011. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all in case we don't see much of you until then!

November 23, 2010: Another Contest!
Who knows? Maybe we're just contest-crazy! No matter, though... this is one you definitely want to enter! A new Harry Potter popup book is being released to showcase some of the art that went into the making of the films, and we're offering a chance to win a copy! View the trailer for the books right here. Then review the latest Staff Chat - episode 20.8675309. Everyone who reviews will be entered into a drawing for the prize. And no, a review consisting of "liked it good job" doesn't count.

October 31 , 2010: Sleuth!
If you listened to the Podcast today, then you know that the staff put together a Halloween murder mystery drama (and comedy of course) based on the highly successful (in 1983) DOS video game Sleuth. And while we lovingly poke fun at some of the games conventions, including characters that repeat themselves verbatim if questioned more than once and an inability to see a massive pool of blood without a magnifying glass, the source game is indeed pretty fun to play. If you're interested, give the game a try by downloading it from the Abandonware DOS Games Database. And whether you give the game a go or not, be sure to listen to the staff drama, Sleuth!

Our winners were announced at the end of Staff Chat 20, and we said the photos would be on the front page in a few days. So here they are! August 27, 2010: Deathly Hollows Photo Caption Contest.
The photo caption contest is now in full swing right here on the forums. If you listened to Staff Chat 19, then you know that we planned a photo caption contest. If you didn't listen, SHAME ON YOU! But I digress. This one's pretty easy. Pick any or all of the images below, and then write up a caption for it. The winners (one for each photo) will be selected by the staff before the next staff chat, and their names will be read abloud on Staff Chat 20. Have fun!
Here's a sample for you.

August 26, 2010: Design Changes and a Contest.
As LovlyRita mentioned, there have been some minor cosmetic changes around the site. Forum ranks have been modified to reflect entries indicative of being involved in talk radio rather than Harry Potter houses. Also, all your old post counts from HPFF had been moved over when the forums were copied; those have now been re-counted, so your post count now reflects posts at HPPC only. The member groups each have their own image with the HPPC logo under them as well, which is more appealing than the red Xs we had before.
On the main site, the "home" link has been removed; instead you can now click on the site title to the left to go home. A link has been added to make it easier for you to find the information on recording your own podcast, and a link has been added with staff bios - though some of us have yet to write ours. Finally, the FAQ has been majorly rewritten and formatted to be much easier to read and use. Just click a heading and - WHOOSH! - information pops out.
Stand by for a new announcement tomorrow; we'll be starting up a contest that you may have heard about if you listened to My Two Sickels 19.

August 12, 2010: Some Light Construction.
You may notice some small things changing around the site in the next few days as the staff of HPPC rally to make everything more user friendly and attractive! The forums and your ability to listen to podcasts shouldn't be affected in any way!

June 22, 2010: Podcast Fever!
Podcast Fever is sweeping the site! It's becoming increasingly obvious even to me that you all really are out there, and you really are listening! I have a feeling that the remainder of 2010 will mean big things for the Podcast. So keep listening, keep reviewing, and keep recommending us to your friends! Thank you so much for your support - we couldn't do the Podcast without you listeners. posted by: AlexG2490
April 3, 2010: Greg McCarthy Rocks My Socks
He rocks a lot of other things, too. My hat, my shoes... pretty much my entire wardrobe, actually. This chat was a pleasure to do. I've only spoken to him for about 90 minutes but I dare say he's one of the most personable people I've ever met. His book is The Price of Life and I am so excited about it. Listen to the podcast, and please visit Greg's site at www.gregmccarthybooks.com. posted by: AlexG2490
March 15, 2010: Get Your Questions Ready!
HPFF will be interviewing an author in the very near future. The novel is a legal thriller called The Price of Life, and the author is Greg McCarthy. The novel was written during NaNoWriMo, something we're all familiar with. The book is up for preorder this summer and will be released in September. So even though it's not about Harry Potter per se, we thought this would be a great chance for you all who love writing to get inside the mind of a real, published author. So ask what you will - how to start a work or finish it, where inspiration comes from, or his favorite ice cream flavor. Anything! Ask questions on this thread and we'll ask the author. Also, watch the podcast for a special recording of the prologue in the next couple days.

February 6, 2010: Social Networks and Stuff!
I Know what you're thinking. I really do. "This new site is pretty fantastic," you're thinking. "But boy, I sure wish there were a way I could interact with the podcast more often, in more places. I mean, sure, I can visit the forums and make a lot of posts and discussions which I fully intend to start doing, but if only I could get instant notification when things happen here! Oh well." That's what you're thinking, right? RIGHT? Well hold onto your hats, ladies and gentlemen, because there are now two ways to do just exactly that, and they're both conveniently linked in the sidebar to your right. Follow us on Twitter and become our fan on Facebook! Then get your friends to become our fan and so on and so forth. Pretty soon we can rule the social networking world! posted by: AlexG2490
January 16, 2010: Hey look! The website works!
You should no longer need to visit alternative pages in order to listen to a podcast, and our fields are now all working properly. You can download new episodes whenever you like right from the site if you so desire. How awesome is that?
If you like what you see, then how about doing us a favor by voting for us on Podcast Alley, and starting up a conversation in our forum? posted by: AlexG2490
